The bayonet was used with the MPi KM automatic rifle, which is a copy of the Soviet automatic rifle AKM. In fact, it is a bayonet for the 1959 MPi KM automatic rifle in sheath, which was later used with the bayonet of the AK74 model. Its official designation is “Modell 79”.<\/p>\n
The bayonet blade is single-blade. The bayonet end is double-bladed, with a concave blade on the shoe side. The blade has a notch in the form of teeth on the shoe, allowing the bayonet to be used as a saw. In the front part of the blade there is a rectangular hole that allows attaching the bayonet to the sheath and use the construction as a cutter. The handle is formed by two plastic cheeks fastened to the blade shank with two rivets. Cross with a ring on the blade side of the blade. The handle head has a T-slot and a spring clip with an internal spiral spring arrangement. The spring clip button is fenced with a plastic edge. Steel sheath, except for the part used as a cutter, is covered with black plastic. The carrying strap is made of leather.<\/p>\n
The metal parts of the bayonet and sheath are stamped with technical inspection stamps. The number on the bayonet (if any) is engraved in the T-slot of the handle head, and the last three digits of the number are also engraved on the torch.<\/p>\n
