Initially the rifle was equipped with a bayonet-rod, but because of the bayonet&#8217;s fragility it was decided to develop a bayonet with a knife-shaped blade. The 1905 bayonet was developed on the basis of the American 1892 bayonet and the Norwegian 1894 bayonet for the Krag-Jorgensen rifles. The 1905 bayonet was produced from 1906 to 1922.<br \/>\n       In 1942, the production of bayonets of 1905 was resumed. The bayonet was modernized and became known as the &#8220;1942 model bayonet&#8221;.
