The 1918/55 bayonet is a variant of the 1918 bayonet with a thickened handle, more like the 1914 spade bayonet. The bayonet of the 1918/55 bayonet is also known as the “Victoria” model among collectors, which is associated with the stamp of the manufacturer of this model.

The blade is straight, two-blade, of rhombic section. The handle is formed by two wooden sidepieces fastened to the shank by two rivets. The handle head has a T-slot and a spring clip with an internal spiral spring arrangement. The cross is straight with a barrel ring. Steel scabbard with bracket and ball at the end.

The bayonet’s cross is stamped with the serial number of the rifle. The blade’s end has a Victorinox mark (Elsener Schwyz Victoria) on its heel. The cross and sheath are also marked with the Swiss cross. On the leather blade there is a mark of acceptance and a stamp of the manufacturer, indicating the year of production.
