The shape of the 1969 bayonet blade is similar to that of the 1941 bayonet. The bayonet was developed for the 1958 CETME (Centro de Estudios Tecnicos de Materiales Especiales) assault rifle, model C (adopted in 1964). The bayonet was also used with FR-7 (Fusil Reformado 7) and FR-8 rifles. These rifles were 7.62×51 modernized rifles for firing ammunition of the 1916 (7 mm caliber) and 1943 (8 (7.92) mm caliber) rifles, respectively.
The bayonet blade is single-blade, narrowed in the middle and expanded at the bottom. The handle is plastic and corrugated. The handle head has a flat groove and a spring latch with an internal spiral spring arrangement. The cross is short, straight with a barrel ring on the blade side. Plastic scabbard with metal mouth and tarpaulin carrying strap with rotating bracket.
The bayonet marking consists of the manufacturer’s mark and the bayonet number located on the blade’s heel.
